G.O.A.T. indeed ... as proved by his dramatic KO of Superman in the 1978 DC Comics special (later reprinted by Whitman)! The classic wrap-around cover features illustrations of dozens DC characters and '70s celebrities at ringside. In the foreground is Jimmy Carter, Sonny Bono, Batman and Lex Luthor ...

I got to meet his newest great grandson the other day. His daughter Jamillah is a friend of our family. What an amazing family.

He was kind enough to sign 3 Sports Illustrateds for my wife in Warsaw, Indiana when he was here for his sons baseball tournament. I was reffing soccer games and did not get to meet him but my wife and oldest daughter did. I believe it was in 2005
