in the non-baseball forum!

Personally, I know of a handful of net 54'ers that collect prewar hockey as well, so hopefully we can get people to migrate over there for some good 'ol hockey talk!

ps. GO HABS!

I am not one of them but I know of at least 4 vintage hockey collectors on this board, two who are genuine Canadians. I know they're genuine Canadians as, when quizzed, each named Ottawa as the capital-- and an American obviously wouldn't know that.

You wouldnt believe the atmosphere here in Montreal these days. After every Habs win, cars are honking their horns and people are partying on the streets ALL NIGHT! You'd think that Montrealers would be a little more "used" to all of this after the 24 Stanley Cups, but apparently that's not the case.

Bonne chance à la meilleure équipe dans l'histoire d'hockey, les Canadiens! (that was for you, Albie )

Chicago used to have a team, and a great arena.

On a serious note, us vintage collectors should really make an effort to liven up the non-baseball board. Either that or we should drive David and Bill crazy with hockey talk.

Albie, forgive Ben for his heresy, he's just upset that his team couldn't even make the playoffs, so he's jumped on the bandwagon of another team. Ben, which team will you cheer for when Montreal is out in four straight?

Ben,
looks like Tampa Bay is a tough team. the Habs' chances rest in the hands of Theodore, who has been outstanding (at least this afternoon).

if anyone here collects 1910 Sweet Caporal postcards (a "parallel" to the c55 set), 1932 O'Keefe Maple Leafs, or 1971 Bazooka (impossibly tough set), let me know

Ben,

C'est vrai que les Canadiens sont la meilleure equipe dans l'histoire du L.N.H. mais pas de cette annee!

LETS GO FLYERS!!!

In response to the original thread, I do collect hockey but the only two pre-war hockey cards I have in my collection are C-55 and C-56 type cards I got from Julie in a trade a couple of months back.

Not to hi-jack the thread but I thought this would be as good a place as any to share a picture or two from my "ideal" doubleheader last Saturday...

Game 1 - First game in the Phillies new ballpark

Here is a neat feature at the new ballpark. They post the lineup in large life-sized baseball cards at one of the main entrances

Game 2 - Across the street to see the Flyers close out the Devils in Game 5!

Hows that for a doubleheader???

In addition to collecting anything and everything related to hockey in Seattle (as you can see on my web site), I'm also still working on my C56 set and upgrading my V252 set - I have them all, but some are missing the coupons. If anyone has V252s with coupons, let me know!
