I've seen it mentioned that Harris had a postcard from 1972 (but have never seen the card itself).

And strictly speaking, since the card was no earlier than 1977, it isn't a playing days issue for Summitt. Her last playing days were the 1976 Olympics. In 1977 she was coaching at Tennessee in AIAW competition.

If that '72 postcard ever surfaces, I'd love to see it.

I screwed up earlier. The Harris postcard was 1992, not 1972. Apologies.

AS far as I know they were - At least in the US- sold by subscription, so much a month for a certain number of cards.
I think - but am not sure- that each subscription began with set 1 and continued showing up as long as your money held out.
The number at the lower right ends in the set and card number. The Astrodome card is set 20 card 2.

A totally crazy set if you count all the different printing locations, languages, etc.

And while for the most part the different countries overlap, some subjects were issued only in one country I think, like Maradona in the Finnish version.

Yeah, there were lots of subjects only issued in Specific countries. I know I've had stacks of Finnish and Swedish Boxing Sportscasters, and each country has several local boxers only found in those sets.

Nothing as dramatic as a Maradona though.

The foreign version with the same subjects often have different dates on the back from the English language versions.

The colors look slightly different too on Finnish ones. A little greener maybe.
