The Yanks had plenty of chances, but it was just not to be. Jeter almost put another post season notch on his belt but fell short. I won't even go in to what I think about A-Rod.
Congrats to the Tigers!

Default Congrats to the Tigers

As a Jays fan I can't root for the Yankees (or Rays, Sox or Orioles for that matter) so I am happy to see the Tigers knock them out!

The Yanks are getting old and it was refreshing to see that that they have issues cobbling together a pitching staff, like my home team.

I figured Game 163 versus the Twins in '09 would be the most tense I'd ever feel watching a game, but this was right up there. And a happier outcome...

It says a lot about the Yankees lineup that having ARod come to bat was a relief!

Mike,
I'm light on the real early vintage Tigers stuff, but I know that Virgil Trucks is pulling for the Tigers down in Florida right now. Go Tigers!!

Hey Mike,

Isn't that Tiger's figure holding the bat similar to the design on the end seats at Briggs stadium? I think I recall that design on a group of seats that were for sale at one time. Either way, nice stuff!

Default Figural Tiger seat end...

Guys..............Here's my figural seat end from Tiger Stadium. My uncle found it in the basement of an old theater in Grand Rapids years ago. Also, a bobble head I picked up over the summer. GO TIGERS!!! ...and I'll probably see a couple of you guys next weekend in Ann Arbor.

The Yankee pitching is not what failed them. It was the dead wood in the middle of the lineup. No disrespect to Tiger pitching, but other than Verlander, it's not like the Yanks were facing Koufax, Ryan and Whitey Ford. These guys were very getable and the Yanks just blew it.

Move over Dave Winfield... there are two new Mr. Mays in town -- ARod and Texiera.

I am still steaming over this. After a superb season, they went out with a whimper. How embarrassing!!

I'm so glad they held on to beat the Yankees in a nail-biter. Rooting for them to beat Texas as well. Here's my small tribute...

Mark,

I could look at that sliding trophy all day long (and the Stall & Dean cup's not to shabby either)!

Here are some shots from last night.

Tigers get temporary reprieve in Game 2 as the high probability of heavy rain has caused Game 2 to be postponed until Monday. Darn, now I have to miss a half day's work tomorrow, LOL.

GO RANGERS!!!
