Default Picture Pals

Either I don't know how to work the Search function here, or it misfires on me.

I just got a letter and photocopies of three actual "Picture Pal" premiums.

I'd like to refer the guy to the recent thread.

Can anybody provide me with a date or a link?

Thanks!

I believe it was within the past six months.

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure Picture Pals was even in the title.

Well Bob, you can always post your info and scans here and let him find it--share with the rest of the class, so to speak I am interested in any info about these, as I own a signed Harmon Killebrew contract with Picture Pal and always wondered about the product he was endorsing.

Here're scans of three original Picture Pals premiums that a fellow in Colorado got in 1963, along with his brother.

As best I can recall, these are the first I've ever seen. You have to wonder how many of the 202 listed in the contemporary advertising were actually requested by kids and how many survived. The $1 charge per picture was not insignificant back in 1963 . . . that's 20 nickel wax packs.

Very very cool guys-- thanks. Yes Bob these were not cheap, but I could see them being surprise birthday gifts for some little leaguers.

Bob, thanks most awfully for posting those Picture Pal gems. How very touching. Surely they would have boosted a kid's spirits back then. You make a very compelling point on the cost. One dollar would indeed buy twenty nickel wax packs---100 cards!!! In this instance, as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, so is a picture worth a hundred Topps cards. A memory to last a lifetime. ---Brian Powell

Default "Picture Pal"

Oh Man! Brooks is listed on the "Picture Pal" players; something else to look for (it never ends...)
