Hey Dan, I went to an auction from the family home. It cost me some, but that's how I got started on this addiction. I'll never find another auction that had so much in it.

I have many things and yes it was only a local Maine auction. I don't put most of the things out there, but I will. I'll see you at the end of the month in Mass.

Coolest cabinet I've seen on this thread so far -- Wright has such a striking and unique look.

Dan,

Is there anything on the back of your Nebraska Indians cabinet card? The one with the grey mount... A stamp or impression etc.?

Shawn, there is no stamp or impression on it. It originated from a museum in Illinois. I bought it off of ebay about a year or two back...I noticed that the same seller had another one they just recently ebayed that was slightly better condition than mine.

The Nebraska Indian spent a considerable amount of time in Illinois over the years...the cabinet is from 1902 even though the seller both times sold it as "1907". My guess is that the NI had their photo taken somewhere in Illinois and sold the photos at the games.

Thanks Dan,

Nice Cabinet! I have recently learned of a technique that can perhaps help date a cabinet photo. You can run a "Google Patent" search for "Design Card Mount" and by chance find a match to one you may have. Dan, your mount looks similar to one I have (not baseball) so I was trying to perhaps narrow down options with any info that might have been on the back of yours. Its a neat trick and maybe I will find a match one day!

Here is the link!

Interesting link. Thanks.

On the Nebraska Indians cabinet there is a date of "1902" on the chest protector.

Al -

The Tinker is awesome.... I don't think I have seen that one before.

The Beckley is a bit scary though.... every time I look at it, I could swear he is pissed at me, and I am not sure what I did to deserve it.
