Default Hodges on 1969 Mets team signed baseball

I am wondering if anyone can explain why Hodges signatures on majority of 69 team signed balls are in different ink color than other signatures on the same ball?

Default 1969 Expos

I have a 1969 Expos ball that I've had since it was signed. Gene Mauch signature has always been darker, and in a different pen. To this day it is the darkest autograph.

Most 69 Mets balls have a stamped Hodges signature. On the ones that he did sign I never really noticed that it was a different pen color.
