Default help needed 1958 Jim Brown rookie card

I understand there are reprints/counterfeits in the marketplace. Is there an easy way to tell? I assume it might have something to do with the back where the coin rub area is - as it would require an extra layer but I'm unsure. Anyone here who knows? Thanks in advance.......

Default I'm trying to help a friend from making a mistake............

Hard to believe with all the learned people here and even those with just a passing thought haven't offered any comment on this. Maybe someone with experience on similar coated issues? It's a very popular card and someone must have some experience to share.

Do you have a scan of the card in question?

Default sorry but I don't

I looked at a legitimate JB and the one my friend has. Both cards had the same stock and color. On his card as opposed to the other I know to be real - the area where one would rub the coin didn't appear to have evidence (like ghosting or a little/lot of the underlying image) that seems to show thru in different degrees on the 30/40 cards I viewed online so that was what gave me pause. His card shows edge and corner wear in the VG VG/X range so I figure that "rub" area should show some sign of what lies underneath. Thanks for taking the time to respond and I'd appreciate anything you might know about the issue.
Friendly,
