Default April pickups

I managed to nab Mike Hessman yesterday to sign a Toledo Mud Hens poster from about 4 years ago that commemorates him passing minor league great Buzz Arlett for the most career minor league HR's (433 dingers!!)
Buzz Arlett retired in 1935 with 432 minor league HR's and his record stood for 80 years before "Big Mike" took his record down.
The thick black sharpie is his signature.
I'm stoked because he thankfully obliged & laid down the good one. Love it!!

Default Signed no-hit tickets that just arrived today

Christmas came early this year!
I just received 3 no-hit tickets back in today's mail:

Jake Arrieta signed his 1st and 2nd no-hitter tickets & they look terrific!
Sandy Koufax signed his 3rd no-hitter ticket for me. I now have signed tickets to all 3 of Koufax's no-hitters as well as his perfect game in 1965.

I now have 154 different no-hitter tickets signed by the no-hit pitcher that pitched it.

Hi Michael,
Yes, it was.
His price tag has gotten really steep, but that's the last item that I wanted Koufax to sign & it completed a project.

Thanks. I was very happy to be able to add this to my collection. It has been awhile since he did a signing with them.

Beautiful Koufax items guys. I had no idea that obtaining his signature in a private signing was so costly. Doesn't look like I will be getting my 1955 Koufax signed anytime soon.

This will be the cheapest post on here, but I've been looking for this for a long time. WWII Vet and usually voted "Best Baseball Signature Ever," Gene Lillard. To be on an original Burke photo makes it even better.

Is there a thread, or could we start one, on 'the best signatures ever'? Lillard has a ball on eBay that is gorgeous. Pricey. I just picked up a Benito Santiago that looks awesome. Charles Gehringer is another. I think that is going to be my next theme for collecting. Gorgeous signatures. (not Greg Maddux...ha, ha).

I picked this one up in the last week or so. Dennis Eckersley. This is not one of his best, but his signature is nice too. (Though not consistent like Lilland or Gehringer)

You might want to pick up a Benny Ayala, one of the fancy ones.

That's crazy looking :-)
I also have Andre Dawson and Goose Gossage. They can have some sigs that look good. I have never seen one as good as Lelland though.....

I might have you beat on cheapest one on here with this Hy Vandenberg. It was in a very large lot of signed index cards I am going through. I don't think I ever noticed before how beautiful his autograph is, or if I recall right he might have had a less fancy looking version as this one seems so ornate.

Forget about Cy Young! His autograph is toilet paper compared to Hobe Ferris and Candy LaChance!
