Default Another '54 and a couple impulse purchases...

My FIRST 1952 Topps card...didn't realize centering would be such a hard thing to come by...which is why I picked up this Yankee reliever...plus a favorite old Dodger and first 1953 Topps card...plus another '54 for my set.

The 1954 Dan Dee baseball card set consist of 29 baseball cards that measure 2-1/2" by 3-5/8". These regionally issued cards were included in a bag of Dan Dee Potato Chips. Staining from the potato chip grease is very common with these cards, as are rough cuts. High grade cards are tuff to come by. The cards are unnumbered, and have been listed in alphabetical order.

The Dan Dees will always be in demand by collectors. In addition to the difficulty in finding these cards in top grades, there is one major reason: Mickey Mantle. Mantle was not featured in the 1954 Topps set, which is the most popular set for that year, so collectors have to look elsewhere to satisfy their Mantle needs. Bowman produced a Mantle card, but the set--as a whole--wasn't spectacular.
Red Heart Dog Food produced a very eye-appealing Mantle card, but not quite as appealing as the Dan Dee. In addition, the Dan Dee is far more scarce, which makes it extremely desirable. That leaves the Dan Dee as the most desirable Mantle card for 1954 and the entire set receives a boost from Mantle's popularity...

hope that answers your question

My favorite Musial card, outside the 52 Bowman. This card has been a long time coming in this grade.

My scanner made the bottom of this card look "weird" because of the inner sleeve... Thanks Daryle!

Default '52 Yankees

I'm not sure where this is going, but I picked up a couple more '52 Topps Yankees...centering was nice so I pulled the trigger. Pretty nice for PSA 5's. Enjoy...

ALR - I'm a St. Louis Cardinal fan, currently 95% or more done with every card/coin/etc... Lou had while active. I've got at least 200 unique items. I've stayed away from magazines and books etc.... largely.

I'm also a Cardinal player collector.

I've got a Briggs and Stratton bobble head, PM me and I'd love to take the other bobble off your hands.

Thanks.

Just arrived yesterday, hence the ebay scan. Had been looking for this proof card for a while; now just need the issued deckle version. Although I believe there is also a gray signature variation proof card...

Daryl, that is kind of the same thing that happened to me. I had that card years ago, and due to handling it didn't look very appealing and ended up in a common box. Now I finally had a chance to get a nice looking Sandberg RC at a decent price.

I remember my little league days. I'd alternate between my best Ryno stance, and my best Andre Dawson stance. Interesting to see those two rookies in this thread. Definitely brings back the memories. I must have 200 Ryno cards, all pulled from packs, not a one in any condition better than 3. (And I got that one autographed, so I guess it's now a 3 (mk)

Thanks for showing
