Default Max Carey Photo

Is anyone aware of an earlier photo of Max Carey? This one is from the 1907 Concordia team. I'm assuming it was his sophomore season, since there are later images from 1908 & 1909.

Very cool, is that a cabinet? Anything on the back?

It’s a cabinet. The back has the name of Elmer Haserodt. He is seated, middle row, far right. With the help of a couple newspaper box scores, I found Haserodt played 3B and Carnarius played SS.
I would like to identify the other players but haven’t found any other photos to compare faces or names.

That team was Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. I played for them in 1969-1973, with Cal Neeman, the Yankee, Cub, and Philly catcher as our coach.

What I’ve posted relates to the Fort Wayne, Indiana team.

I was under the impression that Carey played for St.Louis Seminary--that must be after he played for Concordia Ft. Wayne a an undergrad. I believe Bill Wambsganss also played for Concordia, Ft. Wayne a few years later. Correct me if I am wrong.

From what I can tell, Wambsganss played on the 1911 & 1912 teams after Carey had left.
