Good last minute gamble. Fills two holes in my set.

2 great hits, John.

That Tommy Holmes has been a tough one for me unfortunately.

Nathan Lindgren had an especially great night, and Todd Bluemke wasn't far behind either.

I debated with myself back and forth but just couldn't pull the trigger.

Maybe next time?

I got 2 cards, one is a high, 361 Bill Posedel, PSA 1.5 and I can't see why its graded so low, its a real good looking card. Got a raw 96 Willard Marshall in real nice condition. Neither fits my collection so I guess I will looking to sell them cheap and fast!!

Second time I have tried a 1952 break and didn't hit anything real good, but it was fun.

That would be my luck....That is why these breaks never appealed to me. The only winner is the one doing the break. They sure are fun though.

Didn't hit anything great myself, but got a nicely centered high series Billy Herman... has a crease but my guess is it could grade a 2... should be able to sell quickly for about $100, so may make some lunch money! It was fun and will definitely try it again!!

Ask the guy who won the Mantle about that statement. They aren't for me either but there were actually quite a few people who did good on this one.

I played. Ended up with a decent 297 Andy Seminick SP...probably could get 1/3 of my money back, but you got to pay to play. The big winner of the night bought 35 spots, which is not an inconsequential purchase.

He didn't get it crazy cheap as he had brought 40 slots, but still comes out ahead.

In a break like this there are always a few who come out ahead, one or two who come out way ahead, and obviously the guy who sets it up makes a profit for his time. If you're not ok with that don't enter. But no one would go through the trouble of putting the cash up to buy the set, and shipping out over 400 cards without making something.

I got the immortal Cliff Mapes #109. Also a bonus 61 Robin Roberts so this guy got me as a customer now. Was fun to watch too. And $75 is peanuts compared to some modern breaks that dont have the upside this one had.

I luckily got #1 Andy Pafko (psa3). Takes a little anxiety of a beak when you get a hit on card #1.

Congrats on the Pafko! That card, like quite a few other cards I need, will likely always be out of reach for me unless I accept a real beater.

It's hard to tell what PSA is thinking sometimes but it's likely that crease on the back?

Looks nice to me.

Congrats.

That's a big enough crease across the center of the card to get a 1.5 now. Presents really nice, but PSA has gotten much tougher. That one was graded within the past year. Maybe there's also some water damage from storage. Card might get a 2 or 2.5 if cracked out and tried again.

..a healed-over old tiny needle-hole could get you a "1.5" --- we call them "Oral Roberts" condition....
