I paid quite a bit more than I originally intended for this. Just goes to show my friends, bourbon and online auctions don't go together so well.

i was able to view both the 7 at mile high and this one, this was the better in my opinion, the mile h had a stain at the top, very light, and this had better corners to me. this completes my t-206 cobb's.

Mighty Marty, you dog! Sweet pick-up on a Saturday night. All four look like 10's to me. Good show!

david- thank you.....i was sopposed to buy a "raw" green cobb at the philly show, i looked at it and figured it was messed with, i turned it down, ex-ex/mt appearance, i found out later it was rejected for grading. so i bit the bullet and bought this one, my favorite is the wagner...love the red background and batting pose...the e-95 cobb to is real clean...

hey kenneth nice lou, forget the grade the card looks great!!! nice buy...one tough card to find not creased up..

Marty, that Mathewson is really striking, and that green Cobb is spectacular. It's time you scan all of your cards and show them to us all at once!

thanks jeff- the cobb looks a little better in person, not as washed in the green, and the matty is not that bright, very sharp regisration though....i lost out on the old mill matty in m.h., somebody wanted it more than me, oh well...this completes my t-204 matty's now. happy with that. i have a story for you jeff, will email you...

Marty,
Those pick-ups are all awesome. I was considering making a run at that green Cobb, but decided not to at the last minute. The E106 Wagner is amazing!

I used to own that T206 Matty. The card is really sharp. It would be an 8 if the centering were a touch better. In fact, it once was in a GAI 8 holder. I crossed it to SGC about two years ago, before selling it because nobody was buying GAI stuff at the time (like now).

Congrats!

thanks mike- signed check in a 9, nice....cobb is one of favorites...great buy..

hi jim- when i looked at it the card was very sharp, the corners were great, the reg. i tried to find a negative but couldnt. glad i won it....i didnt think i would win the cobb, but i woke up a winner, centring is there to...glad you backed off on the cobb, i lost out last year in the rea cbb in a 7, and the mile high didnt exgite me, although this is a lower grade than that i think it's nicer..just my humble choice..

i also picked up the e-93 matty, didnt go after it m.h...so i figured give it a try.. although i never show everthing i win here is another nice teddy ballgame

Kind of tough to follow those posts Marty, beautiful cards.

To quote the lot description from the card I won "Peaches in the house."

i didn't look closely at condition...but is this the first time an e93 matty has gone for more than an e93 wagner in the same grade?

Beautiful Wagner, Marty. I had been following that. It was bought by Mem Lane off of ebay last fall for $7200 during the economic freakout. I think it's a great card and I hope you enjoy it happy.gif

Jamie, thx for telling us Marty overpaid for his Wagner. happy.gif

Anyways, most of the big items in their auctions didn't met the reserve. Was it the economy bad or because there're reserves on those items and bidders just don't bother to bid?

Hm... a mid-grade Wagner, on a rare issue? Highest graded? Went for $11,000 sometime earlier last year? I'd say Marty got fair value - for now. We'll see what that thing is worth five years from now, I'm guessing $20k easy. Time will tell, hang onto it Marty...
