Default Thoughts/Help with Clemente Signature...

Any thoughts to the authenticity of this Clemente signature? Always unsure of the pencil autograph....it's on a 1958 program with 7 others...

IMO, looks like it has been traced. If it were offered to me, I would pass.

I would pass too, I just dont like the dark to light on a number of letters, esp the first R.

It really doesn't look good to me. I do not like the way the first and last letters of clemente look when compared to mine or any of the psa ones on ebay.

Chris,

I was able to find a 1958 example and I am thinking it is authentic...

I just picked up the Clemente. I really do feel it's authentic and is nearly identical to his early signatures.

Here are some additional images of the scorecard. It is a 1958 Columbus Jets scorecard from an exhibition game vs. the Pirates.

i tend to trust chris' opinion. he's broken a few ties for me when psa/dna and jsa have different opinions, and in those cases i feel he was on the correct side. of course with any sig if you're not 100% comfortable you shouldn't own it.
