It's got to be the '75 Topps Minis. Does anybody know how and where these cards were distributed?

I have the 75 Mini set and a few packs. I believe the distribtion was Michigan and the West Coast.

Although a post 80 issue, I am partial to the 85 Minis. Unlike the 75s which mirrored the entire regular 75 issue, there were only 132 of the 85 minis. I have the set in regular ( green) and blank back, and about a third of it in red backs. I am not sure if it can be completed that way though.

I was a kid collecting cards in Southern California in 1975 when these came out. There were none sold in stores near me. But my next door neighbor spent the summer in San Jose and came back with a pile of them.

Hi Al, I'm familiar with the 1985 (OPC) mini's in green and the blank back. I'm not familiar with the red. Can you enlighten me or show an example? Thanks, Randy

There are 19 cards in the basball subset of that issue. The Album for that set has room for 126 subjects with photos from Stage and Screen, American Dogs, Boxing, Track and Field, General Sports, Wrestling, Basketball and Football. While not plentiful, they are easier to find than the 56 Hocus Focus, and a lot easier to find than the 55 Hocus Focus.

Paul-
You're right about the mini's not being in LA- we looked all over for them. But it turns out they were in the San Fernando Valley. Some store (Zody's, or Gemco, something like that) had a distibution center in Oakland and shipped them down here.
But other than that it was San Jose/East Bay and Michigan.

Anthony,

You are right about the East Bay being one of the distribution areas for the '75 minis. I went to a card dealer in Alameda County around 5 years ago and he still had '75 mini packs that he got directly from Topps.
