Default W572 question

Posted By: Dan Bretta

Have W572 cards been reprinted?

I don't normally ask these types of questions but I won this so cheap I'm wondering now if it is a reprint.

Dan,
I was watching it but ended up going out to do something and forgot to bid...that will teach me to use a sniping service next time. They haven't been reprinted that I know of...you got a steal.

The picture looks a little funky, but looking at the paper on the back, it seems consistent with what these should look like. That would be an awfully weird card to fake. I'll bet it's real.

I like W572s.

Default W572 question

Dan, It looks like the other W572's I have.

Is that a staple hole on the top portion? It looks like there are 2 holes there, however even with that the Grover Cleveland Alexander from the set (and his associated strip) is notoriously off-center to the top so the large borders all around make it very presentable (even if there is damage from a staple).

From the scan it looks ok to me...I am not too aware of many reprints of these either. In this day and age I think it's safe to say everything has been forged, reprinted, faked and otherwise scammed.....but yours looks ok to me...from the scan

Thanks fellas...I heard from a few people in email as well...one person has told me these have been reprinted throughout the years, but this one looks fine. It does appear to be two staple holes in there...maybe that kept the price down a bit? I'll take staple holes over a crease any day.
