A fellow collector came for a visit yesterday and he started talking about one of his "Holy Grails" that was rumored to exist but maybe never actually seen. You guys know the story. Anyway, I remember a memorabilia thread that might be connected to what my buddy was talking about. I just scrolled through 25 pages of threads and couldn't find it. I don't remember the pertinent words to do a decent search.

The thread I'm looking for had to do with a 1960's mail in offer where you could send in your picture and you would get back a picture (8"x10"?) of your favorite ballplayer gazing at a picture of you on the wall. Can anybody provide a Link? Thanks in advance!

It’s a Holy Grail he’s after; not one he has. It’s a long, convoluted story as to how it relates to Picture Pals. And in the end, the two, unfortunately, don’t relate.

Kind of off topic, but when I was searching for the thread I eventually found, I searched “remember.” The thread didn’t come up, even though the title is “Does anyone remember?” I love this forum but the search feature is pretty wonky.

The search function has never worked well for me either. Seems really antiquated.
