Default Crazy Eyes Bobby Wallace T206 Variation

Was going through doing some upgrades and whatnot and ran across this Bobby Wallace...both are Sweet Caps, one a 150 and one a 350...At first I thought it was just a registration issue, cut on closer look I think it's an omission of a plate...thoughts?

I think it's just a registration issue. I started a thread a little while ago about the "googly eyes." http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=183635

I see a lot of Billy Campbell cards with that variation.

That's what I thought at first, but the shading is very different as well as the brows and hair.

I haven't had a chance to really get into collecting scans and organizing them, but I believe most if not all the art for the cards was redone between the 150 and 350 series. Some are subtle like this one, some are more obvious like Conroys hat.

"Conroy's Hat" sounds like a scientific conundrum.

The idea that the art was redone for the 350 series is very interesting to me. Here are my Wallace examples. The SGC Sovereign is 150 and the PSA is 350.

The Wallace on the right has orange highlighting above the s in stl. The one on the left does not. Not sure if it a color omission or redesign but the shadows of the face are much different as well.
