Default Imhof Sports Information?

Last weekend, I picked up a sizeable stack of Illustrated Current News posters from the 1960s and 1970s. This one highlights the sports information collection of Fred J. Imhof. Is anyone familar with him, and the fate of his archive of material?

Fred Imhoff's massive collection became the "National Library of Sports" in San Jose. The curator / caretaker was Wes Mathis. During the '80's, many of the collection's valuable artifacts were stolen by a vagabond dealer (last I heard he was in Texas) and subsequently sold to unsuspecting folks in the hobby. About 20 years ago the collection was sold to the Amateur Athletic Foundation in Los Angeles, who has since changed their name to the LA84 Foundation. I believe that some of the collection has been digitized, and that some items have been sold since then
