Default Thursday Trivia: At the plate (a lot)

The four players with the most plate appearances in a season (all-time MLB) all played at one point in their careers for the same team. Name the four players and the team.

Added for clarity: They did not all play together on the same team at the same time.

Didn't Willie Wilson and Derek Jeter have a lot of Plate Appearances? I think Ichiro and Pete Rose did too.

It must be the Phillies- I think Jimmy Rollins was one.

It is indeed the Phillies! We have two of the four players:

Jimmy Rollins is #1 - 778 PAs in 2007.
Pete Rose is #3 - 771 PAs in 1974.

Two to go...

(Ichiro has #8; Jeter's best is tied for #20. Willie Wilson is a bit further down.)

I have a feeling it would be someone from years past, a guy like Richie Ashburn or Charlie Keller.

How about that year when Lenny Dykstra led the League in hits?

Lenny Dykstra is correct! He is #2. In 1993 he had 773 PAs and led the league in hits with 194.

Only #4 remains.

I somehow confused Charlie Keller, with Chuck Klein.... Oh well I had their initials right!

I remember Dave Cash had 699 AB’s on the back of his 1977 Topps card and that always stuck out to me.

Dave Cash is correct! He had 766 PAs in 1975, good for #4 on the list.

Well done, all
