Default T210 Young

Anyone have any idea who the player pictured on this card is? Several sites list this card as featuring Cy Young (https://www.tradingcarddb.com/Galler.../6453/Cy-Young). Sorry if this has been discussed before. I did a search of this site and came up empty handed. Cy Young is listed as the manager of Huntington, but all other Virginia Valley League rosters seem to be incomplete.

I just looked on Newspapers.com, and found that the Virginia Valley League was in existence only in 1910. It was formed in March 1910, and it's season ran from May - September. The teams were in West Virginia and Kentucky. In February 1911 it was renamed the "Mountain State League".

I could only find two references to Huntington's manager. One id'd him as "Si" Young, and the other as "Cy" Young. Considering that Denton T. "Cy" Young pitched in 21 games for Cleveland in 1910, and the two cities are around 250+ miles apart (no other AL city was any closer to Huntington, WV), I find it highly improbable that the two "Cy" Youngs are one and the same.

Interestingly, I found a story in the Point Pleasant (WV) Register of 22 June 1910, titled "Cigarette Pictures". It reads:

"The members of the different teams in the Virginia Valley League will be well known in a few days, especially by the cigarette smokers, and to a large number of youngsters who save the pictures from the cigarette packages. The manufacturers of a grade of cigarettes have asked for the pictures of the players in the different teams in the league and they will put them in the packages of cigarettes. The different teams have been posing for the camera during the last few days."

I just found another story in the June 29, 1910 Point Pleasant (WV) Register, where it talks about Joe Mack, who was the player/manager for Point Pleasant. It mentions the game the previous day, against Huntington. It reads in part:

"Few people that witnessed the game at League Park yesterday, knew that the man playing second base for the "Pointers" has a history as interesting, or even more so than the renowned diamond star, "Cy" Young, the Boston American idol. This man, Joe Mack, known from the gulf to the coast as "Reddy" Mack....." It goes on to say that Joe Mack was 59 years old (or maybe only 49); hence, the comparison to Cy Young, who was still pitching in the AL at 43 years of age.

Surely, if "The" Cy Young was managing in the game being talked about, the newspaper in the city the game was played in, would have mentioned the fact.

Sorry for the numerous posts, but I just found him.

It is Julius Young. He is listed in the 1910 US Federal Census, in Ward 2, Huntington, WV. He was 32 years of age, born in Pennsylvania, and he listed his occupation as "Mgr Baseball" in the Virginia Valley Lg.
