It didn't work - there were a few board members (this board) who disagreed with it and posted nothing but perversion (anonymously of course), or simply tried to provoke virtual fights from behind the safety of their keyboards.

Scott, I guess it was the right thing to do (deleting the board)

Donīt think many of the regulars here went there to post anonymously.
The best way to solve any problems is doing it right here.

It was a total surprise what they decided to use it for. But, some of the anonymous posters were definitely from this board. You have to remember, this is not a forum of nothing but nice, clean vintage card collectors - there are plenty of scum from the hobby that lurk and sometimes participate.

You could filter out the morons with an "email/phone" only forum, which is how I exchange most vintage information now anyway, but then you lose new collectors or those that you simply don't have contact information for. It's a trade-off which I'm thinking more and more just isn't worth it.

Scott, things have calmed down a little (hope so!)
Stop restoring those nice cabinets and start posting your new finds in here!!!

Just imagine how important is this board for me...
Guess Iīm the only 19c baseball collector in a banana republic, and this is the only place to ask and interact with very nice people about my area of collecting.

Come on! letīs get back to basics!!!

...infers to me that someone is creeping
about, when actually some of the REGULAR
posters are creeping me out.

As a busy family man, I simply have no
time to contribute on a regular basis.
I enjoy some anonymity with the board
name I use, it is my experience from
Full Count that certain continuing board
members CONTINUE to turn on others like
a pack of jackals. I find the practise
of running off ANY collector simply because
of a difference in opinion (and not foul
language issues)UNACCEPTABLE, vicious, and
repugnant.

My point in firing off some rounds with my
gatling gun on the "other board" was to point
out these issues. It was certainly a lost point,
any attempt at free speech was muzzled with the
crudest innuendo. Over the years this has been
a continuing theme with many wonderful acquaintances
of mine driven off because others here were too
sanctimonious, grossly inconsiderate, and selfish.

I am ASHAMED at the long term board members for
sitting in silence while others here have suffered
and quite enjoyed slinging mud at those responsible.
Thanks Runscott for the "other board".

IS that it was aimed in the wrong direction! By not checking the I.P.'s you failed in that you responded viciously to both Koos and I to Posts that neither of us wrote! You went on and on on a few in particular without seeing they were obviously anonymous not from either of us.

In particular the beads post was from Koos,
it is his IP.
In your case you were invited to stay out
of the issue early on in the feud, and you
will NOT find a post on this board where I
said anything against you. As such it was
YOUR CHOICE to pursue a non-issue. I deal
with over 1000 customers a month instore
where I work and rarely have a problem
with anyone. There are numerous attacks
of yours on this board, far more in days
than I normally have in YEARS of dealing
with people.

The rest of your comment had no real point. there is zip evidence of anything Koos posted concerning me except alleged e-mails...Nude?

1) My point is that running collectors
off the board like Mr. Mathewson is
pathetic.

2) Standing by idly while some one gets
hammered here is not much better. And
what can most do? They will be attacked
with the same bullying.

3) I don't recall the IP addresses on the
other board being up the nite I posted,
they were not appearing on my browser anyways
till the following day. I am aware that some
posters were fraudulent, but for the most
part I avoided such posts if I were aware of
them. I re-iterate that some of the crude
posts are Koos content, they are his IP address.
I can assure you most collectors here would not
enjoy its repugnant content either. Mr. Daniels
I can hardly believe you would remain silent
if you were attacked in such a manner, yet
you EXPECT me to?? Why do you expect me to like
such crass attacks, when you yourself do not like
the relatively MILD attacks on this board?

4)I state AGAIN that I was not interested
in your issues, CLEARLY stated so before
firing some rounds on the other board,
CLEARLY stated Mr.Koos content is mostly
bull, do not need to review any emails about
it, as my main points as CLARIFIED in point
1&2 above do NOT neccesitate rehashing garbage
better left on the "other board".

...so the only place to rehash it is HERE and it is indeed unfortunate and IRONIC that of BCD, ME, and the "lamp-post", YOU'RE the only lamp-post running on and on ANONYMOUSLY!!!! I'm sure that your IP would show up somewhere on the archived pages of this site once I start looking for it, but I would have hoped that a "man" with such a high opinion of himself and low opinion of others would have the "stones" (it doesn't take much anyway just to let others know who's puffing out his concave, blubbery chest) to NAME himself. Stick your head out of the shell just once, Cecil Turtle..doesn't it get stuffy in there having to re-breathe your own stifling air?

In response to your number 3. You certainly should respond and defend from being asttacked! But you attacked me and wrote nothing offensive to you! I wanted to concentrate by broken shoulders and giant arms on Koos and only Koos. You know " choke em chicken out" thing. And the I.P.'s were clearly marked. The Forum does not allow posting without it. Koohies starts with 24 yours & mine 209. Simple!

...resides in Vancouver, Canada. Take a look at the utter nickel and dime GARBAGE he buys and sells on Ebay (Search: BlueManitou). ALL Magic the gathering S**T that you wouldn't want if someone GAVE it to you for free, and a few Vintage NON baseball cards here and there (Soldiers, ships, etc.).

...Baywatch, BarbWire, Playboy, famous Blonde Bimbo/pseudo-strumpet/professional doper. Had tons of plastic surgery to look like Bridget Bardot. C'mon, you know her..Tommy Lee's ex-wife, now with Kid Rock..although I can't even imagine why Kid Rock would give up something like Midori (Jodie Watley's sister) for Pammy. Dumbest move I've ever heard of.

Being a family man, some of the neighborhood
boys asked me to buy the Magic cards for them.
I did so.
An acquaintance of mine has a comic store, the
other Magic cards are from him, and again it
is no crime to sell such items on ebay last
time I looked. I don't particularly care for
comic books which I believe you deal in,
you seem to infer you have a disdain for
kid's fantasy books/material, so why bother
with comics if you hate fantasy material so much?

And if the Mantle is the first card you bought
then you've got exactly ONE vintage baseball
card (the Jax), I've got lots of vintage pre-war
baseball cards I own.

What are you, some kind of card Nazi? Dictating
what is socially correct to sell, and smearing
others with hate it is not of the "right" dollar
value.

While you are continuing to continue to continue
continuing ad nauseum with personal attacks I
dont recall seeing any reply regarding your
belligerence to others on the board.

And to clear up the I.P. thing.....you wrote something on the other board that was semi slamming of me not Koos...on that thread I agrred with you and then someone came in saying they were me and falmed you blue just after I agreed with you! I know you think I am insane but didn't that seem a little silly even for me? You then went on this tearing of me about my immaturity and no one wants to talk to me etc....that was what I was referring to concerning your guns pointed the wrong way!

..never bought or sold a BASEBALL card on Ebay in recent history (the past three months) for more than $50 would have so much to say on a Board which is geared for Vintage card collectors, peopled by guys who have HUNDREDS of thousands of dollars worth of cards. Are you assuming I own 1 Vintage card? The Joe Jax? 2 and 1/2 years is a LONG time to go by to assume that I nave never bought another vintage card. If you feel you are correct, perhaps a small wager is in order. You appear very intelligent. You must be to equate $10,000+ Silver age comics in Ultra-high grades to Fantasy/Role Playing $5.00 items. I'll bet you $1000 against every $20 you wish to wager that your Vintage collection isn't worth 1/2 what mine is, the Jackson LEFT OUT. We'll meet, once establishing the wager, and we'll use SCDs price guide for determining prices, or SMR, winner take the money and ALL THE CARDS. !

... At one time, one would assume they could buy professionally graded cards with utmost assurity but with what we've come to know and see, indicative of ALL grading companies..the errors, mislabels, gross incompetance in general, considering the service chosen is being entrusted to "save us from ourselves", that just isn't the case. Buying raw can be a daunting adventure, dependent on the seller's ability to grade, see defects clearly, and recognize alteration. The one factor that now sways me to be buying "raw" over graded items, in my opinion, is the right of RETURN. Something we usually don't touch upon. How many auctions of professionally graded cards carry the disclaimer, "since the card is professionally graded by ______ (fill in the blank), there are no returns on slabbed cards", or something to that effect. It all translates out to, "as is". The card comes in the mail, and whether or not you agree with the company's labeled grade, and whether or not you feel the card is trimmed (as is the case in one of the above threads..cards graded by PSA that most here feel are whacked), the card (and the curse it carries) are YOURS. Like it or lump it. I think I'd prefer to do my own grading and assessing from now on and summarily have the right to return the item if I find something amiss, or the card misgraded! With slabbed cards, your right of return is NEGATED. How this came about, this "traditional" auctioning of slabbed cards as "final sale", is beyond me. How buyers let sellers get away with it, FOR IT TO COME INTO PRACTICE, is a mystery to me! And I realize that there may be a few Sellers who DO accept returns on slabbed cards, but the majority DON'T.

I think the reason they do this is that they got it into their collective heads that once they ship the card, it's the grading company's problemm, because the grading company has a guarantee.

If you get a bad card in a PSA or SGC slab, there is no written guarantee that they'll do anything for you, but the odds are good that you can have something done about it.

This is less true of BGS cards, and not at all true of cards in any other slab, as far as I know.

I've taken returns on graded cards (someone sent one back to me exactly once), and I've returned them to sellers upon a few occasions. Teletrade takes them back. In another case I returned one to Sportscards Plus.

In a few cases I've asked eBay sellers to guarantee their graded cards, because I don't want to get a card with bad register, which doesn't show up very well on a scan. Some will and some won't.
