Default Spalding Bat help

Bought this bat for my personal collection a while back and was wondering if anyone had additional info about it. It's a Spalding bat with a vintage flat / sawed off end. The end of the barrel reads "U OF MINN. 14" and the length is 31 1/2 inches with Spalding stamp on handle. Thanks in advance. Jason

The 200 CM were the college model bat by Spalding during the 1926 to 1934 period. As you said it has been cut off at some time

I assume there is no way it would be from 1914 then? It doesn't matter to me either way, just wondering why it would have the 14 on the barrel. Thanks for the info. Jason

The 14 on the barrell is probably a model number from the college corresponding to a specific model in Spaldings line of bats. My college team got louisville sluggers models like K55, U1 etc which was indicated on the knob, while the barrell declared it to be a Wake Forest 5 or 10 or 14 or some number designation instead of a player name on the barrell.

I get it. I have other star player college bats, but those are from the 50's - 60's. Just seemed odd to have a number on the barrel. Thanks for the info.
