ummm, that booklet was printed AFTER he died. See in the third scan it says he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1973?? He died in 1972. So a bit tough to get signed. Unless you are Coaches Corner.

Actually, in the picture right above the autograph, it lists the date he died.
I think the OP needs to go back to person he got it from.

You've posted this for sale recently and stated you got it from a "reputable source". Do you happen to remember who you got it from?

Maybe I'm seeing something you guys aren't but it looks to me as if it is a cut glued to the booklet. The booklet is not signed. The cut from a photo is.

Default Clemente

The cut is the top portion of a 1969 topps deckle edge Clemente... It has clearly been pasted in a collect a book and is legit imho

I had the same reaction - it looked to me like a Topps Deckle Edge pasted into the Collect a Book. Frankly, I kind of like how it is set up.

But why only ask for $225, if real wouldn't this auto be worth a lot more.

Aha! I see what you mean. That makes sense.
It's still a bit strange to only ask $225. It would've still been cheap at twice that.

At this point I wouldn't buy it for 2 reasons. First, it's already sold. Second, and more important, is that I am currently saving my money for something else. If I was in the market for a Clemente or had the extra money lying around, I probably would have been interested in a sig like that even at the $400-500 level.

$450 sounds like a reasonable offer.
