Sweet pick up Pete, and Nadja to boot. I made a modest run at it, but glad to see you ended up with it.

....upgraded , but I still want to carefully clean the grime off the surface of my original...there are books on restoring old photographs but not much information about simply cleaning them up a bit...Worch are very glossy and on a sturdy stock.....I may experiment......anyone ever had any success in "soaking" a soiled glossy-surface photograph? Thanks , MikeGarcia

Default Soaking not advised

Mike,

Would not advise soaking for this issue nor for T222 Fatimas. Because they are actual photographs with photographic gloss soaking will dissolve the gloss off of the photo, thereby altering them.

I'm not familiar with Tauscher but my word, that's quite the leg kick. I can imagine all the hitters must of saw was legs, a glove, and then a baseball. It looks like he's standing on his right leg and leaning backwards. If Tauscher was a hard thrower it must of been terrifying to try to hit. Even for the era that windup looks extreme.

I've been sucked in to collecting all the T206 backs now. Scratched a fairly tough one off the list and couldn't resist the Collins.

Dave, I can't blame you, that Collins is a cool card. Nice pick ups on all.

Thanks Ed!

Scott ...the Colins has a very light crease running from top to bottom ... really hard to see. Really harsh grade in my opinion.

Default Upgrade Minneapolis Millers Worch Cigar Minor League

....Smokey Steve Sundra pitching in the minors.....some of you know him from making it to the New York Yankees late in the thirties .

...the odd browned bits of old 1930's "adhesive tape" are staying on the backs of all these photos because as they're being cleaned ( only the grime on the fronts ) they are going back into/onto the one-of-a-kind hand-made wall poster of the Minneapolis Millers/St. Paul Saints teams which I'm tidying up as much as possible without doing any actual repairs or card-doctoring......the tape is frail and brittle but it's part of the charm and history of the poster so I'm being careful to preserve everything about the piece.

Here's the T213-2 Davis "Phila", which is the more difficult variation. "Philadelphia" is the more commonly found example...

I don't think too tough. 45 examples graded by PSA. Exhibits are also very reasonably priced which is refreshing given what CJ's command.

I thought this was pretty cool. 1948 team issued greeting card with photo of the team--photo is seperate item glued to front of the card. Middle seated row far left is a VERY young HOFer Dick Williams in his second year in the Minor Leagues (predates his first other item known by a few years).

That's really interesting. What's the year on that? At first I was thinking 1930 or so but that doesn't seem right. Is it postwar?

Is there a back? I'd love to take a look if that's not too much trouble.

I'm intrigued.

Hi David,

Menkos were issued over a long period of time in Japan. This one was listed as 1950. Here is the back. Some have designs while others are blank.

Really excited to get a E102 Matthewson. I recently commissioned Tim Carroll to do one of his beautiful cut art masterpieces of this card so I really wanted this to go with it!
