Default Hardest single cards in 53 Topps set?

For those who have pursued this set, does anyone have an opinion on the hardest single cards to find in nice condition, reasonable price in 1953T?

Obvious answers are Mantle and Mays...but I was more focused on the commons, semi-stars, SP's, high-numbers.

I found the #278 Miranda hard to find, as well as the Gilliam, the Bolling, the Haddix.

Before I even looked at your list, I was thinking Haddix. Still haven't got one as keep getting outbid, and I've been aggressive with my max bids.

Mantle and Mays have gone up so much in mid grade....even the Paige has seen a nice bump.

Mays is crazy difficult. Especially with little to no wear on the bottom black.
53 was a great year for Topps and Bowman, pretty cards.

Default 53 Mays

Yes that Mays is the last one I need to complete my Ex set.

But along the way I found some of the high numbers harder to find, thought it would be a good discussion.

Agree with Haddix being the toughest. It took me a year to find a really clean psa 6 at the right price.
