Default Babe Ruth Cast Iron Door Stop? (Info requested)

net54 almost always comes through, due to the breadth of knowledge represented here. I've got this cast iron doorstop bookend of Babe Ruth. It's about 9" tall. The base is green, about 5" long. I see a handful of them on eBay, and a few that have sold through auction houses. Anyone have any info on when these were made? Or who made them?

Thanks

I have never seen any real production or date information on those and they were also heavily reproduced over the decades, I admittedly don’t trust them as being period for playing career and think they are closer to 40s through who knows when. The last company to use that mold I could find was Heritage Metalcraft in Maine. They likely made it till they went out of business in the early 2000s.

Here’s one that someone hasn’t aged yet with the sticker still on when I searched that maker

I would think yours is a slightly older production, maybe 50s hazarding a guess. Looks like it was repainted at some point.

I have seen the auctions and question the descriptions. I hope someone else has better information than myself on if there is any proof to if these existed during his playing days.

The one on eBay. Newer piece. Because of the statement on back. Made with recycled materials.

It's the type of piece that looks vintage, and that you hope is vintage. But these are far too mass-produced and common to hold any true value.

I have seen these sell for over $100 on rare occasion, but that's probably a function of the seller portraying it as being antique, and the buyer not doing his homework.

I believe they are from the period after this sentence.
