Default Packer's Walkers Cleaners

John E mentioned these in another post...anyone have some to share? I have a wantlist of about eight vintage football items and an example of one of these has been on the list longer than any of the others. I have never even seen a scan. There was an interesting article in a past Gridiron Greats magazine but I have never been able to contact the author. Any new information would be great.

Here is a scan of the Frank Baker photo premium. It also includes the Walker's Cleaners Bio sticker on the front. It is blanked back and measures 9 x 10 inches including the tab which was to be used for placing in a binder.

I saw a small offering of them on Ebay quite a while back (at least 7 years). I had no clue at the time what I was looking at, other wise I would have been all over them at the price they went for (100-200 a piece if I remember correctly). I also seem to remember there was a Michalske is the lot.
I love the line in the bio, "The completed and bound collection will be a very valuable souvenir"

John, I won the Baker (pictured above) in that grouping. There was also a Curly Lambeau and Wuert Englemann in the group. I want to say the Lambeau went in the $500 range and the others in the $200 to $300 range. I wonder how many sets of 27 there are in existence.

You're probably right on the price, my memory of the auctions was fuzzy at best. The only set I ever heard of was the one mentioned in the Gridiron Greats article.

i re-read that gridiron greats last night. great article. i, too, have been looking for these for years. knowing my luck, i probably started looking right after the last batch went to ebay. not even offered by a major auction house in the last five years that i'm aware.

any idea why the bio sticker wasn't just adhered to the back at the time of distribution?

as a side, i hope this board really takes off.....i been guilty of not posting, but i will start to contribute more.
