6. Atlee Hammaker

Atlee was never the same for the rest of the year after that at bat

But #3 was Arch Ward; a sportswriter for a Chicago newspaper. Interestingly; Ward also "created" the College All-Star/NFL Champ game.

Won the 1st HR Derby Championship in 1985 and I'd wager it took far less than the several hours last night events did.

Nice job so far. The first All Star game was to coincide with the celebration of Chicago's Century of Progress Exposition, however.
