Default Live Auction Event at House of Blues

Posted By: Doug Allen

Some questions have arisen regarding our Live Auction event at the House of Blues in Cleveland. There will be a formal announcement soon but let me provide some information.

First of all YES the auction will include an unprecedented collection of T215 Pirate cards. The condition is spectacular (generally EX to ExMt) and not trimmed/handcut. I believe the collection contains 93 of the 94 subjects identified by Lipset(guess we will have to pick up the missing one on eBay!!!). In addition there are a few variations (team changes, etc).

Regarding the HOB dinner/event. First of all the we will incorporate a myriad of opportunities to participate in the auction without the need to phyiscally be there including absentee bidding, call backs, phone bidding etc. No bids will be missed. For the event we have room for about 250 people. Unfortunately if we were to send out an open invitation to our customers we would never be able to fit everyone. At the same time we are committed to fully underwriting the cost of this event. This being said here is what we are going to do. We will extend an invitation to all of our customers. In order to participate in the event we will charge a registration fee of $100. 100% of this fee will be given to an appropriate chartity. Admittedly we will offer free admission to various individuals that have special relationships with our firm but those people will also be encouraged to pay the $100 to benefit the charity. This way we can put together a world class event, control the attendance and raise $25,000 for charity.

I hope a lot of you will attend. It will be a great time to mingle with fellow collectors and experience what we hope can build into an annual National event!!!
