John Lennon writing? Need Beatle Experts

A friend of mine's dad worked in 1972 on one of many petitions to try and Save John Lennon from deportation, after his drug issues.

The dad received this "Thank you letter" from someone named Mike.

Now, My friend has noticed serious similarities between the "war is over" portion of the letter and the original handwritten lyrics.

If anyone can help or knows someone who can who thinks this thank you letter is in John's handwriting, Id be greatly thankful. God Bless. Scott

I am no expert though, so I cannot help with the writing part.

I'd consider asking Roger Epperson, although he does charge for his opinion (well worth the money IMO).

I would trust Frank Caiazzo. Recognized expert on Beatle's autographs. That is all he does and no controversies regarding authentication from what I remember.

Yeah, I believe he only offers authentication services for a select few unfortunately - but he definitely is one of, if not the best Beatles autographs authenticator.

Going back to the original question...

The "over" in the two pieces look nothing alike. Each of the four letters are markedly different. The "r" and the "v" are not even close.

I'm with David...Do your own legwork when possible and if you cant come up with it then ask but this one not hard to figure out with a little "google".
