Default Question about autographed balls

Posted By: Anonymous

If an autographed ball is dated does it increase it's value?

As an example, I started collecting in the late 80's and when Ken Griffey Jr. was a rookie in 1989 he made an appearance at the local card shop at the beginning of the season. As a result, I have his auto on a ball dated 4/4/89.. Does this have any impact on the value? Just as a side-note, my friends and I biked up to the shop and all 4 of us got our balls signed like this, but after the guy behind me requested it, the shop put an end to it as it "took too much time."

Unfortunately, as a kid in the SF bay area in that time frame, most of my auto balls have now been tainted by roids... I used to go to the big labor day show at the Moscone Center... So have Canseco, McGwire, and Barry Bonds balls that are pretty much worthless, but at least I got my Spahn ball, still my favorite!
