Default What % of the value of your baseball card collection is 19th century cards?

Posted By: Bruce Babcock

Along the lines of the earlier thread comparing pre war vs. post war, what percentage of your baseball card collection is 19th century? Mine is about 25-30%

If your collection consisted of 2 sets (T, DR, F) from the 1980s and the rest 19th century cards then 25% of a collection being 19th century isn't so bad because that'd be a few hundred 19th century cards.

You could break this down to the following:

Percent of the number of cards in a collection

Percent of dollar value of the cards in a collection.

Only about 4-5% 19th century currently, but could be increasing.
90% 1900-1935
5% 1936-1981

Close to 10% of the value, but well below 1% of the number of cards.
