Default 1961 Topps Partial Sheet & A Question

This is my first post on this forum, although I have
been reading for some time now. I asked this question
over in the PSA Forum also, but for those who don't
visit there, I'll ask it also here.

In the 1961 Topps baseball set there are three different
major varieties of wrapper (Not counting the different ads).

One says "Extra Feature In Every Pack", one says "Extra
Magic Rub-Off Emblem In Every Pack", and one says "Extra
Baseball Stamps In Every Pack".

Anyone here know which of the seven series of cards
each of these "extras" were included in??

Oh, and here is a partial sheet of 5th series '61s for
your Perusal...

Welcome John. Nice uncut sheet.

I have Mark Murphy's pack book and it may have an answer, I will check later today. Alternatively Anthony ( Griffins) or Dave Hornish may know, I will ask them to check in here if they do

I can check later when I have some down time. The answer is out there (to quote Fox Mulder).

truth, schmuth-I want answers!

Murphy does not break the ads down by series but Prince has series 1 with the ruboffs and series' 1/2/3 with Extra Stamps. Bizarre. The Ruboffs seem to be lesser in number than the stamps, although by how much I am not sure. They were selling stamp albums too so a longer sales period for packs with stamps seems likely. Maybe they issued the ruboffs in part, then the stamps, then pulled back kids for more ruboffs? Not sure I have seen a uncut strip of Ruboffs so hard to say.

Extra Feature would make sense as being the latter packs as they could use whichever inserts they had too many of.

I tell you, a really good unopened pack guide with updated information would be great. Not one I plan to write but would definitely purchase.

Thanks Al, for the welcome, and Thanks Dave for all the great
information. What you say does make sense. I too have
noticed that there seem to be more stamps out there than
rub-offs, but maybe some of that has to do with the stamps
originally coming two to a pack in a connected panel and many
have been separated since, where as the rub-offs only came one
to a pack.

Although the rub-offs are perfed, I too have never seen two
or more connected.

Yeah, Topps offered a stamp album to stick all those stamps
into. Back in the day, before the internet where everything
is available, I had a time finding one that didn't have stamps
stuck on every page. This one is empty of stamps, but does
have some kid's name faintly written on the front.

Oh great!! As if this wasn't complicated enough,
I just found a fourth major variety of the '61
Topps nickel wax pack wrapper.

This one has "Biggest Stars! Biggest Series!"
on the front. So now I wonder where this one
fits into the timeline of production.

Here is a picture on an eBay auction...
