Default Old box scores

Posted By: Bill Todd

I'm sure that some of you are familiar with this, but I've never paid much attention to the statistics in old box scores before. Here's a lot on eBay--nothing special, but the game summaries are succint gems. Note the emphasis on defense--the player-by-player listings include fielding info rather than all the batting info you see now.

I also thought the position designations are interesting. What's the "m" stand for? "middle" fielder? (I guess they didn't want to use a "c" for both center fielder and catcher, but they had no problem with using the same character for left fielder and first baseman.)
