Default Does anyone here have a collection piece valued near the 6 figure range?

I was just looking through past auction results from Heritage and was amazed at the amount of money so many items were bringing. Particularly vintage game used baseball and basketball memorabilia selling in the high six figures. I was just wondering if anyone here has anything in their collection that would likely bring six figures or somewhere close to that range? Would love to see some top of the line stuff if you have it!

NO, but if you would include your address and work schedule it would help.

It depends on if you count the digits after the decimal point .

There are plenty of gorgeous items on the site if you look through past threads on this and the card side, but I doubt you are going to have many (if any) people replying to a thread like this with their items, however cool it might be to see them.

Not a question I would expect a lot of answers to . Plus 6 figures is a relative term . Does it mean we paid 6 figures for it , or would we sell it for 6 figures or is it valued by whatever opinion we use at 6 figures ?
As for me I will never tell.

Thread went exactly where I was hoping.

I only have a two figure collection - Branch Rickey and Jackie Robinson.

Lol. I was expecting these type of responses, but was hoping someone would post something really cool like a Mickey Mantle worn jersey or something.

Guess I should have worded it differently. "Six figures" was the only term I could think of to describe what I was trying to get at. How about "super duper high end"?

Default Why?

If you have access to the internet which you obviously do then you can just look up past auctions for everything it appears you want to see.

You say that you have been checking Heritage auctions so why the need to have specific folks post photos of a "6 figure" item?

It may have been an innocent enough question but I really don't see the point when you can view anything and everything on the computer these days at the click of a mouse.

Reminds me of customers I used to get in my card store that lets just say looked very suspicious, and then would ask the inevitable before even saying "hi". They would say "what is your most expensive card and where is it?" and the next inevitable question....."what is the most expensive card in your personal collection?"

Needless to say, I would simply point out a $100 card in the case and that worked almost everytime as they would then look around quickly and leave.....hmmmmmmm

If they would have said their name was "DirtyT"...well you get the point I think..... no offense....

Just sayin.....

Peace, Mike

I think you are right Brendan but I don't see anyone posting anything which makes sense to me for some reason. No biggie either way it just sounded a little strange.

Peace, Mike

A lot of people don't seem to post high dollar items in the forums. There are a few members that own t206 Honus Wagner cards, but you don't see those getting posted on the card side very often either. It is nice to see collections, but it just doesn't happen often when it comes to 100k+ items.

Wisely most people exhibit a certain level of discretion when it comes to parading around high ticket items.
