How tough are the 1966 Kahn's cards? I just got outbid on a trimmed Vada Pinson, which went for $135. I figured it was a $10 card at best. Other "commons" went for really high prices as well ...

The '66s are the toughest of the striped cards (66-69) to find. I took a look at the completed eBay auctions right after I read your post. I'm also surprised at the prices some of these brought--the Pinson in particular. Very aggressive on the authentic ones. I know the winner of the Pinson was an active bidder when I sold a batch of Kahn's cards a year or two ago.

Seems like the Cincinnati Reds players did better in these auctions than players from the other teams (ignoring condition).

Reds:
Pinson $135.00
Pappas $69.00
Maloney $69.00
Edwards $69.00
Nuxhall $119.00
Harper $104.09
D. Johnson $68.56
Cardenas $56.00
McCool $104.09
Rose $525.01
Ellis $39.00

Pirates:
Veale $9.99
Maz $20.51
Pagliaroni $32.00
R. Bailey $64.10
Stargell $256.21

Braves:
Lemaster $16.51
F. Alou $36.00
Cloninger $62.10
M. Jones $9.99
Aaron $219.00
Torre $112.50
Menke $93.50
Blasingame $27.66
F. Bolling $27.66

Indians:
Alvis $12.72
Siebert $22.50
Davalillo $22.50
McDowell $21.50
Gonzalez $78.00

Thanks for the info, Bob ... I'm a Reds collector, and I've noticed there's some fierce competition for many of the regionals and postcards I bid for, particularly stuff from the late 30s and early 40s ...

It was 12 RBIs. Your power of recollection is waning.

Wasn't it Mark Whiten? He had a great arm, but I can't remember him doing much with his bat, except for that one game ...

No one else has ever had 4 HRs and 12 RBIs in a game. A few have had 4 HRS, and one other had 12 RBIs...Jim Bottemly....also a Cardinal

Those are great clips. Now, who is the only player to hit 2 grand slams in one inning ( he now plays for the Mets but did it as a Cardinal). Conversely, who is the only pitcher to give up 2 grand slams in one inning

Sorry Larry. I don't have either in complete form. The 66 Kahn's McDowell is one of my favorite McDowell cards (along with 69 Topps). Cool pose.
