Default Mike Tyson photo spread questionn

A friend emailed the following question. I have no clue. Does it ring a bell with anyone?

Thank very much.

"Jerry,

I'm hoping you'll remember what I'm about to ask.

In the mid-to-late 1980's there was a photo spread done on Mike Tyson that was among the most memorable group of photos I have ever see.

These were dramatic, extreme closeups of Tyson, front and back over several pages. The detail on the photos was almost too close. It made Iron Mike's skin look more like metal or sometype of distressed leather rather than skin. It was as if you could see ever pore, every bead of sweat at a macro level. I thought the photos were in Rolling Stone, but I can't find them.

Do you remember these shots or know where we could get copies? We want to try using this style in an ad campaign we're planning to create for a client.

Any help would be appreciated. The photos should be pre-Robbin Givens if memory serves correct.
"

I think those were out of "Interview" Magazine. October 1990.
