Default Question for those of you who crack cards from their cases

When you crack your cards out of the holder, do you hang onto or document the original grader/grade/serial number for posterity?

I do, hoping one day they will offer a credit to send them in.

No, because in theory that card will never be in better condition. Only bad things could happen so that grade is maxed out... in theory.

I keep the flip for low pop items, so that I can convey to the next party that this is one of the few that was "graded".

I save them as well but not for any reason in particular.

Yes because although the grade becomes somewhat irrelevant, it's still proof of authentication. I put them in separate tobacco-sized binder pages.

Seems to be a mix of keepers versus trashers. I personally don't crack them, and wouldn't keep the case, but as a guy who keeps track f stuff, I think I'd document the info for posterity.

It was just a curiosity on my part, I appreciate the responses.

You could get them slabbed.

Yes. My sets are in binders, one card to a slot, fronts and backs showing. I place the flip behind the card with the grade showing.

I save scans and mail the flips back to PSA/SGC so that the card can be removed from the pop reports. I don't crack many cards, and the pop reports aren't great, but I have zero interest in it looking like there are more of my cards than there really are.

After cracked, I usually put the card in a toploader and the flip between that and the penny sleeve, for the next person to know it was slabbed before. Unless I am Battlefield then all bets off and all paintbrushes on.
