Mike--you found 3 error cards in one pack, Do you know if the errors are corrected on other cards, ie., just errors or intentional variants

The basic regular card set for 2013 Topps Series One is 330 cards ( 1-331), no # 7 ( Mantle retired #).

Looks like a lot of errors on ebay. Many without foil or names.

More "manufactured" errors to create interest?

As much as I hat to say it. I wouldn't doubt it, and they'll spin it as just a quality control problem, to give themselves and excuse for it..

These appear to be just poorly done. I looked at the first player on my Rockies stack, Jordan Pacheco. It says

With 171 hits, Pacheco is 3627 away from the all-time record of 4085.

I immediately see two errors there. Poor editing job on this set.

From Carlos Gonzalez;

With 648 hits, Gonzalez is 4028 away from the all-time record of 3608.

Huh? Am I missing something? Is there a Ginter-esque hidden code here, or just horrible editing?

Who is the math expert at Topps ? The all-time hit record is 4256. They got the numbers in the wrong order. Should be 648 + 3608 = 4256 and 171 + 4085 = 4256. I believe most will be wrong data on the back and will be corrected in the Factory Set printed later in the year, thus creating numerous variations, if anyone cares !

Do they actually correct them in the factory sets?

If so, I'll have to start getting the factory sets.

Yeah, I'm the one crazy person who would care.

the foil is not an error according to what I've read so far. the did all sorts of variations with the lettering and back ground colors (gold, white & silver) on the inserts not sure about the base set.
in my opinion they need to get away from having so many inserts and worry about the quality of the rest of the set.

Here's a site which lists all Series 1 cards. That's why I only buy a factory set each year.

http://www.cardboardconnection.com/2...baseball-cards

This is totally ridiculous.

Plus their quality control and proof reading is also terrible. Topps should be embarrassed.

It's true but people like myself will keep buying. Topps has a monoply on the baseball card world. A lot of guys don't even look at the other baseball stuff out there right now because its just the players in generic uniforms. For instance panini (Donruss) really had the first Mike Trout card in 2008 where as bowman didnt have his first until 2009. That auto books anywhere from $100 to $500 but panini books significantly less. The only good thing about it is that it stops there from being soooo many cards like in the 80's and early 90's.

I don't have the complete set to check all the cards but the following have errors on the back in the section called " Career Chase " # 's 5,16,27,128,186,230,240,293 and 322. I'm sure there are more.

I find it interesting that the cards mention the player who holds the All-Time Record, ie Home Runs Barry Bonds 762, Cy Young 511 wins etc. , but with the All-Time Hit Leader 4256 they never mention (Pete Rose). Is he banned from Baseball Sets also , even mentioning his name ?

i haven't seen rose in any of the newer Topps products since i got back into collecting 4 years ago.
i wonder if anyone has even brought this up to Topps. i should hit them up on twitter and let them know how many statistical errors they have. twitter is the easiest way to get in touch with them I've found
