I know it's cricket but it seemed like a pretty extraordinary piece.

I was in contact with the owner and she said she just decided to keep it. Because of all the interest, she knew she had something good. She was bombarded by offers to sell it outright, and this time it backfired.

It's Crossley. He is known in the Jordan series with two different poses.

I was planning bidding on the item and was pretty dissappointed when it ended early. I thought she pulled to sell outright so at least it might pop up again later.

Any thoughts as to why the Jordon and Co advertisement is upside down on the back?

Rhys

I noticed that too, and the two examples I sold in 2005 had the backs rightside up. In 2004 Mastronet had the same card as this and it too had an upside down back.

But one way this card differs from the few I have seen is on the back there is a black line running across the top. Mastro's did not have that line.

Edited to add somebody just emailed me and said the line at the top is nothing more than the plastic sleeve the CdV is in, and based on another look I think he is correct. Thanks Aaron.

I'm glad this thread was started because I went through the other eBay items of the seller and found a photo of one of my ancestors up for bid.
