Default Vintage Baseball Trophy piece: questions answered!

Posted By: Alan Elefson

Hi-

I am actually not sure that the item scanned below is a belt buckle, or a hat badge, or something else entirely. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any idea on age or manufacturer or purpose? I am guessing it is either late 1800s or early 1900s based on the shape of the catcher's mask and the bats. I picked it up at an antique auction with a group of silver pins (no baseball pins) that ranged in age from the late 1800s to the 1950s. Any help you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Alan Elefson

I don't think it's a belt buckle, but your dating seems reasonable.

Perhaps it was a component of an award badge or trophy. It's beautiful whatever it is.

Hi-

I figured I would bump this to the top with a scan showing how the piece would display (I scanned it upside down previously). I also changed the title of the thread as I am fairly certain it was not made for a belt buckle. Can anyone supply any additional information regarding this piece, or has anyone seen something similar?

Thanks in advance,

Alan Elefson

Mystery solved. It's an emblem for a trophy. Here is the exact match for you.
