Default 1913 Fenway fan photos., Requesting park photos, to compare.

1913 World's Champs vs Chicago., Uni database match. Now, trying to pin down a date.

Pregame BP. Out in cf, there is an exposed flagpole. Duffy's Cliff and a free-standing, humongous bull advertisement *Bull Durham?

On this date, the blank scorebd on the Monster lists;
Boston v Chicago
Cleve v NY
Detroit v Phila
StL v Wash
Nat'l:
Boston v Chicago

Hey Steve,

Off the top of my head, I think it's from either 1913, 1914 or 1916. I'll look into it a bit and see if I can come up with a better idea!

You said keep your eyes out of focus, which is misleading. You want DEEP focus!

Didn't notice the thick dark eyebrows in the shadow at first. Also, the dip in the brim seals it. I agree with you, nice work...

And, I was about to list it as a young Babe Ruth or Joe Jackson.

The signage does not match 1912 and 1914 photos that I have.

Hey Mark,
I've determined these are 1913. Also, there appears to be a giant Bull Durham ad in the outfield. Strangely, it doesn't appear to be attached to the green monster, but on the field before Duffy's cliff. This may help pin down one of several days that Chi was here.

Would you have any ideas on that closeup Chicago player/mgr?

Awesome Mark!

Would you recognize the other two Black Sox in that shot? One fellow appears dark-skinned.
Also, would you agree the fellow at the rail (pic 2) is Carrigan?

Appreciate your ID work,
Steve

Steve: I fiddled with the settings on a couple of your scans just to see if I could enhance the sharpness a bit. Hope you don't mind. I love these photos - they are just brimming with baseball life.

No sweat David. If you or any other member want humongous scans, shoot me an email. I need all the help I can get with these fuzzy shots.

Default Fenway pics

If you shoot me a big scan, I can maybe help with the Carrigan ID. the guy to the far left in the first pic above has Carrigans posture also.

I may have it.

July 25 1913, Mgr Carrigans' first game as leader of the World's Champions.

Boston 7
Chicago 5

Of course, I say this because I'd just remembered. I already have a '13 Fenway ticket (vs the CWS)... Therefore, I'm no closer than I was at the start.

Perhaps, the only way to pin it down. Is to find the dates that damn, wooden bovine occupied centerfield.
