Default 1913 A's display - original or reproduction?

A recent win on ebay. I'm wondering if I got a great deal or just overpaid for a modern reproduction. Decided it was worth the risk at this price:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/290687153545...84.m1497.l2649

but now I'd like to know what the experts think.

Default repro

14 day money back return policy. You should take advantage of that! Repro.

Most likely a repro but not a bad price for a decent display piece IMO.

Even if its not real you frame and mat that piece and you have a great looking wall hanging

That shipping is brutal but if you don't want it, I'll make you whole on it and take it. I'll stick it up in the basement.

I think that seller, Wyomingantiques, is located here in Indiana. I also think they have another eBay ID or two. Either way they are a KNOWN seller of fakes especially signs and posters.

If you want to get upset, look through their Feed Back and see how many "vintage" signs and posters they have sold and the selling prices for those pieces.

If I were you, I would get your money back and then leave them a NEGATIVE noting this was a fake.

Here's the original, for anyone who's interested...

It's a lot bigger than the ebay example, and the pastel blue background is actually hand-tinted. Interesting that the reproduction chose to replicate that element.

I think I'll e-mail the seller and tell him that when he makes another one I would be interested in it.

HRBaker,

If I remember correctly, the seller will disavow any knowledge of this (or any) of his pieces being fake. He will say he bought them at an estate sale or something like that.

Just looking through his current listings he has a ton of fake items and many of them have bids. It's a shame that ebay will do nothing about these scammers.

Dan,

HRBaker,

Oh, I know what you were getting at and I would love for you to do that and to hear back what their response is.

Actually, I think it would be great if a number of people from this board went through this persons completed auctions, found a fake piece that had sold and E mailed them and asked them when they had more fakes of these items made if they could have first fibs on them.
