Default carlisle pennant

I was one of the underbidders on this pennant, and I don't recall seeing this Carlisle pennant before. When I first saw it, I thought the player was just a generic depiction, but when I looked at it further, it does bear some resemblance to Thorpe. I still think that this is probably a generic player, and could potentially predate Thorpe? I believe he started playing there is 1912.

I bid as well, but I think it is just a generic player.

Was the tip actually missing on this? It appears to me it is, but the seller claims it was a double-tip.
