Default eBay to introduce specs for items

Posted By: Bill Cornell

eBay is rolling out a new feature called "Item Specifics" that will allow sellers to specify the attributes of their items. The feature help is here: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sellerguide/item_specifics.html.

While this isn't available yet for the Sports category, you can see it in action by doing a search on "tickets"; next to the results that come back is a box with a bunch of ticket specs (city, date, price, etc.).

One benefit of this for cards & memorabilia would be to standardize on naming (for example, "T206" instead of "T-206" as a set name). Also, it makes reading item descriptions less of a chore, since the specs are shown clearly above the description.
