Default HELP NEEDED topps 1991 stadium club pre-production cards

I bought a set of 300 cards that are apparently pre-production? in 1991. It's the second series #'s 301-600 including strawberry and McGuire. They are missing the gold "stadium club" stamps and I think there might be a few other differences although I haven't looked at the cards in about 10 + years. They are mostly NM/MT and better although there might be a card or two with an edge or corner flaw as the stack once tipped over. Would there be interest out in the market for these? What would/should the pricepoint be? Should McG or any of the cards be sold individually? Thanks for ANY thoughts as I prepare to list or auction a LOAD-O-STUFF...................

thanks I'll post some pix today.....

Default smartly guessing as little interest in the cards

Do the cards have the pre-production stamp on the back or are you calling them pre-production because of the missing the gold Stadium Club stamp? Also are these hand cut or factory cut. The ones I have seen are all hand cut out of sheets.

Let me know what you have or better yet send/post some pics. I might be interested if cheap as junk era error stuff is just not selling right now.

How does the Pre Production card fit in with the other cards and what is on the other side of it?

The other cards pictured look like regular 1991 Stadium club cards missing the gold foil stamping. They are on ebay all the time. Some list them in the $10-$20 price but they rarely if ever sell for that. A Cal Ripken recently sold for $2.

I have sold hand cut commons for $.25 each with star players in the $1-$2 each range. In a 300 card lot depending on # of stars you might get up to $30 shipped if you can find someone needing them to complete a set. On the low end I seen a complete error set sell for $7.49 shipped recently.

Are your hand cut or factory cut, most are hand cut as many full error sheets of these left the factory.

Default thanks for responding

appreciate you took the time. I'm going to take quite a hit I suppose as I paid significantly more than 30.00 and that was 20 years ago. The baseball hobby had a different focus back then and I suppose I did as well. Accepting I was gonna take a loss - maybe 10 years ago I accepted an offer of 125.00 for the McGuire card and the guy actually DIED before we finished.....
The 300 cards were wrapped in some kind of waxy cellophane and the white card (nothing on the back) was on top. My friend had 2 and I bought one a year or so after he bought them. The cello subsequently came apart. I don't think these were cut from sheets outside the factory but it's plausible given how they were packaged. I thought there were other differences but I'll have to check against one other regular card from the set.
I have CRS which makes it convenient when I have to take a pounding on money better spent as will happen from time to time. I understand I may lose money on what I collect - but I've learned to buy what I like and stay away from things that would only serve as "spectulative investments". The 300 cards are headed for fleabay along with some other accumulated "newer" cards that I once acquired for mostly the wrong reasons. Giving them away but at least I'll have more room for other stuff!

sometimes life gives you the test and then the lesson........

20 years ago that type off error cards was worth what you paid. Now the marked has dropped like a rock on errors. I have 50,000+ error cards from the junk era, back then I could have sold them and bought a nice new house. Now I could maybe buy a new bicycle(cheap) by selling them.

There was supposedly a "chater member" set of these but I do not know how to tell the difference between them as the fronts look exactly like the regular cards and I have never seen the back of one. There is a guy listing a "charter member" card on ebay now, would not hurt to maybe contact them for more info.

Let me know when you put your stuff on ebay and your ebay ID.

1880nonsports,
After a little searching your cards are just the regular Stadium Club and not the "Charter Member" cards. The fronts are different on the cards.
