Default ID help with 1930's Cubs item

Posted By: Rick

Hi, I picked this up at a card show yesterday. I don't really care about the value, since I only paid a thousand dollars for it (just kidding), but I would like some help identifying this. I looked through the 2006 Standard Catalog, but didn't see anything similar.

This is blank backed, 5 3/8" wide by 3 7/8" high. The photos are of Phil Caveretta, Billy Herman, Billy Jurgess, and Stan Hack. The only years that these four players were with the Cubs was 1934 through 1938.

Any help will be appreciated. (Leon, I used your tip to reduce the size of this picture by 50%. If it is still too large please let me know.

Thanks, Rick

R312 is correct, and they say the cards are from 1936. The one from that set to see is the one of Connie Mack... a beautiful pose of him managing. Lefty Grove is on the card with him, but that HOFer is like an afterthought in my mind, CM is what the card is all about. I'll try to dig mine out in a day or two, if no one has it handy.

Frank.

Here are a couple of mine. Very cool cards and not really expensive. Geat colors and a wide variety of poses including multiple player poses.

Thank you, Bruce. THAT is the card. Mr. Mack in full managing glory, scorecard in hand. I truly believe that is the best of the cards of the set, notwithstanding what Sean or price guides might suggest.

Frank.
