Default Mantle and Maris Bobble Head Cards...

or just some really cool business cards? I bought something from Don Lepore probably in the '80's and these were included with the purchase.

They are numbered at the bottom possibly indicating others. Anybody keep in touch with Don?

Default Mantle & Maris Cards

Could the 7 & 9 at the bottom of the cards refer to player numbers as opposed to cards in a series?

That's what I was thinking.

Uniform numbers sounds right to me too. The photos used were I think from original promotion type postcards (slightly bigger than post card size, I think) for the bobbin heads in the 60s - we picked up one of each in the 70s somewhere - always thought they were pretty cool. I have never seen a similar pic of Mays or Clemente - anybody else ever seen one besides Mantle or Maris?

These are modeled off of the Bobbin Head Doll Ad Photos, which are very difficult to find. I have only seen them for Mantle and Maris. They are oversized pieces and bring big money.

As for these, my understanding is that someone produced them as business cards, probably in the 80s, as a way to try to track down bobble head dolls. I don't think there is any meaningful value there (search eBay and you'll see some completed sales), but it is still a cool image of Mantle and Maris.

I just pulled up some details. The originals were 5x7 and were issued from 1961-1963. They were only made for Mantle and Maris.
