Default Death of Half.com

Ebay has announced that they are shutting down half.com for good on Aug 31. I haven't sold anything there in years, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Half. That is where I first got started selling online, and I actually made pretty good money on there for a year or two. It helped me out when I was in between jobs, and for that I am grateful.

Yea...as a matter of fact, they were making a small resurgence, due to Amazon blocking sellers from selling box sets on their website. Then they had the bright idea to hike the commission fees to 25%. I believe that was the straw that broke the camel's back, because that is a little too obscene.

I used to have stuff on there, back when the fees were much lower than Ebay. Total waste of time because a bunch of people would basically use stock pictures and list every card from a fairly modern set at 1 cent. Was on I think 2-3 years, 0 sales. And things were priced reasonably, like if it was $1 at a typical show I'd have it at .50 or so. Combined shipping, unlike the 1c listers who wanted like a buck a card to ship.

At the end they sent me an email that they were closing Half. I figured why bother removing stuff if they were closing. A year later they sent another email saying to remove stuff because they were closing........Yawn...I can t recall but I probably didn't do it then either.
